What pattern has characterized your life recently?
An imbalance between work and quiet or "me" time and being distracted . I plan to assess and address this over the weekend.
What is your greatest distraction?
What is it distracting me from - having more time for me & fun. So, having just seen this, I will look at how to shift it.
How do you respond to suffering?
Having been an avoider for much of my life I would distract myself or go into the suffering and dramatize it to some degree. Now I look at it as an opportunity to learn and heal and do my best to just sit with what is going on, to feel and allow it to move through me.
It takes practice and awareness to practice compassion towards oneself but I am learning for myself and so that I can be there for others in the same way I am there for myself.
I support myself and others to love ourselves in whatever way that may be in the moment. For me it may be to cry and release, it may be to take a bath, to sit by the water or walk in a forest. Sometimes I journal, other times I sit quietly and sometimes I share.
I try to be there for others in whatever way that is and always do my best to just accept where I or someome else may be at any given time. I find that it is in acceptance I find peace.
In times when I am aware that I am avoiding "feeling" something, I know that I will do so when I am ready or that something will happen to "make" me be present to what is going on to create the suffering. Kinda of silly to wait when I know that just accepting it is what will end it lol!

What's your guiding question?
Do you pay attention to your dreams?
Sometimes they are fun and adventurous and at times I visit places - perhaps on another plane or dimension. Often times I visit places Ihave been before and recognize locations, buildings, energy while other times it may be somewhere I have never been.
When I am in a period of struggle I pray that I see in my dreams what I need let go of to find/make peace again and I am telling you - it works!
Thank you for bringing attention to the importance of dreams to me and inspiring me to get back into them as I have been busy in the mind of late with many of them being anxiety driven.
Dreams are like having a built in transpersonal counsellor, are an opporunity for travel and adventure and provide insight into our true selves. And dreams are super cool!
When was the last time you took time to play?
I also took it easy last Friday.
Although I am taking time to play, I would have to say the balance between work, responsibilities and play is not in alignment with what I would like it to be and so am working to balance that out. Summer is here after all and it is time to play!
I do have a couple of gatherings to attend and host this week and look forward to those as well.
And a trip to the east coast in two weeks...
OK so I am not lacking in the play department but do wish to balance out how much, how and what I play :)

Running the 10K in today's ING race.
A trip to the East coast with my boyfriend Terry in a few weeks.
My contract with Amnesty International working on a project called Small Places to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
AND a trip to Hawaii next January to celebgate my 40th Birthday with my friends!! We are going on a sustainable bike tour :)))
Seeing my nephew Liam this morning.
The possibility that it may be sunny today.
The fact that there are 8 ducklings and 2 goslings recently born and living in the canal outside my fron door!! They are SO cute!
That I am alive.

What are you learning?
To stop rushing & to be present to every moment, every task, every conversation, morsel of food, message from my mind, body, soul.
That even though I think I am very open to receieving (love), I can always open more. I can always surrender more.
That I CAN do it. All. Anything. And so can you.
